Maki Mannami was born in Osaka in Japan in 1977.
She started playing the piano at the age of 3, dancing at the age of 5, writing poem at the age of 8, playing the drum at the age of 13, vocal training at the age of 17. She lived in NY to study musical theater when she was 19 after she dropped out Osaka Art University Performing Art Course. She sang gospel in a church there, appeared as a chorus dancer in Off-Bloadway and as a jazz singer in a cabaret.She has collaborated and released the works with various artists in club music scene, compemporaly dance scene and movies. She has been developing many ways of using voice not only singing standard songs, but poetry reading and voice performance using 4th octave range of voice with effects. On solo, she writes the music, lyrics, and arrangement, plays the piano, vocal, and programing.
